Oxford,U.K.-Wolfson College, a postgraduate institution of the University of Oxford, has announced the establishment of a new stipendiary Junior Research Fellowship in the culture of Punjab, spanning from approximately 1450 CE to the present. This prestigious fellowship, which focuses on the teachings and traditions established by Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, will commence on 1 January 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is non-renewable and will last for two and a half years.
The college has emphasized its commitment to diversity, particularly encouraging applications from women, and black and minority ethnic candidates, who have historically been under-represented in academic posts at Oxford. The successful candidate will receive an annual stipend of £40,500 and will also be entitled to Common Table rights, covering the cost of their meals in Hall, currently valued at £58.00 per week.
Applications for this full-time role, which is open to candidates working in the Humanities and Social Sciences, are due by 4:00 PM on 20 September 2024. Interviews are scheduled to take place on the afternoon of Thursday, 24 October 2024.
