Surrey, B.C. – Multiple youths have been taken into custody, and several weapons have been seized following a weapons-related incident in Surrey’s Guildford area on March 18, 2025.
Shortly before 3 p.m., RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) officers responded to reports of a man being chased and shot at by a group of armed youths near 149 Street and 104 Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers located several individuals believed to be involved. Some of the youths fled into and around Guildford Town Centre, prompting a large police response that included the Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Service (LMD PDS), the Lower Mainland Urban Patrol Helicopter Air 1, and Surrey Police Service officers.
Authorities arrested several youths at different locations around the mall. Some remain in custody, while others have been released pending further investigation.
At this stage, police have recovered at least one Airsoft gun and a can of bear spray. Officers are continuing their search for additional weapons that may have been discarded during the chase.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
