Surrey, BC – A RCMP Black Hawk helicopter has begun patrolling the British Columbia-U.S. border this week, adding a new layer of security and enforcement to the region. While B.C. already operates the largest RCMP air service fleet in Canada, the Black Hawk’s speed, range, and advanced capabilities will strengthen efforts to detect, deter, and disrupt illegal border activities.
The helicopter will monitor the border with Washington, Idaho, and Montana, specifically targeting human smuggling, drug and contraband trafficking, and illegal crossings. Onboard police personnel will have the ability to quickly respond to suspicious activities, working alongside Federal Policing Pacific Region Integrated Border Enforcement Teams to enhance both intelligence gathering and rapid response operations.
This deployment reinforces Canada’s commitment to border security, ensuring swift action against criminal activities while supporting law enforcement efforts across the province.

When were these ordered and for what purpose at the time? Rewarding Trump aggression with purchase of American-made equipment is a harm to Canadian sovereignty. Boycott of all American made equipment, regardless of perceived or claimed merit is appropriate at this time.
