Chandigarh-Punjabi singer Ranjit Bawa’s highly anticipated performance at the Red Cross Fair in Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh, scheduled for December 15, has been cancelled following allegations from Hindu organizations.
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal accused the singer of hurting Hindu sentiments and submitted a memorandum to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Nalagarh, demanding the cancellation of the show. In response, the authorities decided to call off the event, citing concerns over maintaining communal harmony.
The allegations have sparked mixed reactions among fans and the public, with many expressing disappointment over the cancellation. Ranjit Bawa has not yet issued a statement addressing the controversy.
