Chandigarh: In a major step towards strengthening support for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, has launched a WhatsApp helpline (+91 9056009884) for NRIs to report grievances and seek redressal.
Through this helpline, NRIs can now directly submit their complaints via WhatsApp, making the process quicker and more accessible. Once a grievance is reported, it will be forwarded to the relevant departments and the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), NRI Wing, ensuring timely action and resolution.
In addition to the helpline, the government has also emphasized the availability of various NRI-related services through the official portal (nri.punjab.gov.in). This platform offers essential services such as online attestation of documents via the E-Sanad portal, covering birth, death, marriage, divorce, education, police clearance, and more.
Highlighting the government’s s commitment to NRIs, Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal stated, “ The AAP government stands with NRIs and is dedicated to ensuring their concerns are addressed promptly.”
This initiative marks a significant effort to bridge the gap between NRIs and the Punjab administration, offering a streamlined and efficient grievance redressal mechanism.
