Ottawa- Federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh has declared that his party will move to bring down Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government in a vote of non-confidence. Singh criticized Trudeau for failing in what he described as “the biggest job a Prime Minister has: to work for people, not the powerful.”
In a letter to Canadians, Singh stated, “The NDP will vote to bring this government down, and give Canadians a chance to vote for a government who will work for them.”
Singh accused the Trudeau Liberals of repeatedly letting Canadians down, citing failures in addressing healthcare, housing affordability, and the rising cost of living. He reaffirmed the NDP’s commitment to fighting for measures such as dental care, free birth control, and affordable medication, while vowing to oppose Conservative policies that he claims would prioritize corporate interests over public services.
The non-confidence vote, set to take place in the next sitting of the House of Commons, signals a critical moment in Canadian politics, potentially paving the way for a federal election. Singh called on Canadians to join him in building a government focused on creating good jobs and supporting families.
