Surrey: Famous radio host and community leader Harjeet Singh Gill has been nominated by the Conservative Party of Canada from Surrey-Newton ridding.
Harjeet Singh Gill, who hosts a radio show from 10 am to 1 pm at AM 600, will contest against Liberal’s Sukh Dhaliwal whenever the next Federal Elections take place.
Informing about his candidature, Harjeet Singh Gill wrote on social media platform ‘X’, which was earlier known as Twitter, said, “It’s official. I am now the Conservative Party of Canada candidate for Surrey-Newton. I look forward to working with Pierre Poilievre and his team of common sense candidates.”
Retreating Conservative Party of Canada’s promises, he also stressed on “Axe the Tax, Build the Homes, Fix the Budget and Stop the Crime”.
Harjeet Singh Gill is a well-known name in the community.
In 2019, he contested the Federal Elections against Sukh Dhaliwal on the NDP ticket. In the elections, he gave a close fight to Sukh Dhaliwal. However, he could not manage to defeat the Liberal Candidate.
In 2019, he bagged 11,854 votes (29%), while Sukh Dhaliwal polled 18,328 votes(45%).
Harjeet Singh Gill has been known for raising community’s issues through his shows and on other public platforms.
