Surrey,BC — The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced today the successful interception and seizure of 210 bricks of cocaine in three separate incidents in British Columbia. The combined weight of the drugs is approximately 246 kilograms, with an estimated street value exceeding $6.6 million.
On October 18, 2024 at Pacific Highway Commercial Port of Entry,
CBSA officers, assisted by a Detector Dog Service team, examined a commercial truck entering Canada at the Pacific Highway Commercial port of entry. Hidden within a shipment pallet, officers uncovered 70 bricks of suspected cocaine, totaling 82 kilograms.
In a second incident on Nov.1, 2024 , CBSA officers inspected another commercial truck carrying building materials. Concealed beneath lumber and a tarp in the truck’s belly box, officers found 100 bricks of cocaine, amounting to 119 kilograms.
A final seizure occurred when officers inspected a commercial truck loaded with lumber at the Aldergrove Commercial port of entry. With the help of a Detector Dog Service team, officers located two bags in the truck’s cab containing 40 bricks of cocaine, weighing a total of 45 kilograms.
In all three cases, the drivers were arrested and handed over to the RCMP Federal Serious Organized Crime Unit for further investigation.
The CBSA and RCMP have not disclosed further details as investigations are ongoing. These seizures highlight the critical role of border security and law enforcement in combating drug trafficking in Canada.
