Montreal – Air Canada has announced a tentative four-year collective agreement with the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), which represents over 5,200 pilots across Air Canada and its subsidiary, Air Canada Rouge. The agreement acknowledges the pilots’ contributions and professionalism, and outlines a framework for future airline growth.
While the specifics of the agreement remain confidential, it will be subject to a ratification vote by the ALPA membership, expected to conclude within the next month, along with final approval by the Air Canada Board of Directors.
In light of the agreement, Air Canada has updated its goodwill policy for customers affected by potential labour disruptions. Passengers who had changed their flights, originally scheduled between September 15 and 23, 2024, to a later date can now rebook to their original flight at no additional cost, provided seats are available in the same cabin. Rebooking must occur for travel before November 30, 2024.
This development signals stability for Air Canada’s operations and is expected to strengthen future collaboration between the airline and its pilot group.
